Part owned by Liverpool's all time record goal scorer Ian Rush, Naoi made a winning stable debut for trainer Willie McCreery when landing the Unio Employee Benefits Handicap at Leopardstown.

Sent off 20/1 on just her second start in handicap company, the four-year-old daughter of Siyouni belied her lack of experience to register a first career win.

Staying on strongly inside the final furlong under Sam Coen, Naoi led close home to beat Free Solo by three-quarters-of-a-length.

Willie McCreery said: "She's a lovely little filly. Very well bred and it's important to get a win for her. She was in a maiden two weeks ago and then I saw he had only given her 66. I want to try and get her over to Chester because Ian Rush is from Chester. There are a few races for her over there on 11th September so we'll aim for there. The whole thing is to get a win in Chester so the pressure is really on now."
