New camp delay Christmas call Nigel Twiston-Davies will wait until the end of the week before deciding whether to let The New One turn out for the Christmas Hurdle at Kempton on St Stephen's Day. The six-year-old made it three from three for the season with another impressive display in the International Hurdle at Cheltenham on Saturday, his second successive victory in the Grade Two contest. Last year The New One went on to push My Tent Or Yours close at Kempton and should he turn out over the Festive period this time, he is likely to lock horns with Champion Hurdle favourite Faugheen. Twiston-Davies said: "He's 100 per cent this morning, which is great. We're very happy with him." Asked about a potential Christmas Hurdle bid in less than a fortnight's time, the Naunton handler went on: "The truth is we just don't know at this stage. We want to see how the horse is. We'll decide by the end of the week." The New One starred in a double for his trainer and the same owners, with Blaklion looking every inch a contender for the Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle at the Festival in March after winning a race of the same name. "He's fine this morning as well," said Twiston-Davies. "I haven't gone through the programme book yet to see where he might go next, but obviously we want to be back at Cheltenham in March."
