O'Brien dominates Beresford entries Aidan O'Brien seems intent on trying to equal Vincent O'Brien's record of 15 wins in the Juddmonte Beresford Stakes as he is responsible for 11 of the 17 confirmations for Sunday's Group Two at the Curragh. O'Brien's plethora of possibles include Superlative Stakes second Air Vice Marshal, the unbeaten Deauville, General Macarthur, Johannes Vermeer and Unicorn as he looks to pick up the prize for the fifth year running. Air Vice Marshal and Deauville are among several O'Brien horses who remain in the Juddmonte Royal Lodge Stakes at Newmarket on Saturday. O'Brien named Shogun, who was third to Herald The Dawn in the Futurity Stakes on this course last month, as one of the handful of horses he is considering for the race. "Shogun is a possible runner if the ground is nice and we'd love to run him," said the Ballydoyle trainer. "Beacon Rock, who won his maiden at the Curragh last month, and Deauville are also the most likely to run at the moment but we'll take another look at it later in the week. "I'd imagine we'll probably run a few in the race." Dermot Weld is double-handed with Ample Sufficiency and True Solitaire while Ger Lyons' Restive and the Jim Bolger-trained Stellar Mass, who were first and second in a Curragh maiden last month, are others in the mix.
