Ross O’Sullivan is hoping to grab some Grade 1 black-type with Switch From Diesel at Leopardstown on Sunday.

The Yeats mare, who is still a maiden over timber, is set to contest the Tattersalls Ireland Novice Hurdle.

She ran well to finish fourth in top-level company at Naas earlier this month, when fourth to I’ll Sort That in the Ballymore Novice Hurdle, and O’Sullivan is hoping she can get in the places this time.

She ran well when fourth in Naas and we were hoping to get third for the black type.

Seeking valuable black-type at Foxrock

The seven-year-old had some very smart bumper form, including when chasing home Bambino Fever in the Grade 1 contest at Punchestown last season.

“She’s in at the weekend in the Grade 1 and fingers crossed,” said the Kill handler.

“She ran well when fourth in Naas and we were hoping to get third for the black type. It will be something similar on Sunday and if she could get the black type, it would be great.”

Summer chasing on the horizon for Strong Link

O’Sullivan is eyeing a chase campaign during the summer with Strong Link, who had some smart bumper and hurdle form last year.

“He’s on a break and we’ll aim for the summertime again and maybe back to Galway over fences.

“I’m looking forward to him, and his form is fairly strong now as he finished second to I’ll Sort That and he also beat Thedeviluno.

“All that form is tying in well and he’s a nice horse to have over a fence.”
