Patience pays off with Navajo Point Navajo Point (4/1f) gained a deserved first success today, landing the Societies Welcome At Gowran Park Apprentice Handicap for owner Deirdre Hassett, her husband trainer Martin Hassett and jockey Paddy Harnett. Having returned to action last June following 402 days off, the four-year-old gelding had gradually found form and today improved on his recent Dundalk runner-up effort when scoring by a neck from Rampage . Trainer Hassett reported “This horse’s mother (Dashing Diamond) was slow, but tough and won a race for us. Navajo Point has got a bit more about him and while he probably wants 1m2f, we said we'd come down and take our chances, although we thought there’d be a bit more of a cut in the ground. “He fractured his pelvis in Roscommon last year and he was off for ages.
