Paul's Dream steps up to register first career win for Mullins Runner-up over course and distance last month, the Tony Mullins trained Paul's Dream went one place better when recording a first career success in the Visitwexford.ie Handicap Hurdle. Sent off 5/1, the mare was always to the fore under John Shinnick before heading Harry's Dream after jumping three out. Travelling strongly on the front end, the six-year-old asserted entering the straight, keeping on well from two out. Party Pack stayed on late for second under Darragh O'Keeffe but there was no catching Paul's Dream who scored by five-and-a-half lengths. John Shinnick said: "I'm grateful to Tony and the owners for giving me the ride. She was there when I wanted her all the way, it was very simple. I sat in the box seat and when the gap came at the third last I said I'd take it because I knew she was just going to get closed going down around the bend. In fairness, there was plenty underneath me and I felt that she was going to stay galloping to the line. She done it well in the end. "Looking at her previous runs I was keen to make sure she got a good start today. She ran on the last day at Tramore and I said if I didn't have to do that it would sort one problem out and just see how she goes. I gave her the best possible chance to go and do it today and she was good and professional, so I'm delighted. "She's been unlucky and talking to Danny (Mullins) beforehand he just said to have her as handy as you can, but have her travelling for you. That's what I had in my head and I kept it safe down the rail and it worked out well. She did (paddle over the last) but she was on her own and I wouldn't take any notice of that. She'll probably get even further." Additional reporting by Donal Murphy
