Power on target for Killarney comeback Robert Power expects to be back in action for the four-day Killarney meeting in less than a fortnight as he continues to make good progress from a fractured wrist suffered at Bellewstown early last month. Power, who enjoyed a total of five Grade 1 wins from his association with the Jessica Harrington-trained pair Bostons Angel and Oscars Well last season, fractured his right wrist following a fall from Paul Nolan's Gala Dancer at the Co. Meath track on July 2. “It's coming along well. My right arm is still in a caste but it feels good and I'm due to get it off next Tuesday. I'll be getting physio after that, and hopefully will be back for Killarney the following week,” said Power. The Meathman, whose father Con was a top class showjumper, was able to attend the Horse Show for a couple of days in the RDS last week but is already looking forward to the upcoming jumping season. “Oscars Well and Saludos have both summered very well at Jessie's and look fantastic, while Bostons Angel is a real tough horse and won his three Grade 1's last season by a combined distance of just a length. I can't wait to get this caste off and get back into the yard to ride them,” added Power. Meanwhile Andrew Lynch makes a welcome return to racecourse action at Tramore tomorrow evening following a three and a half month spell on the sidelines after fracturing his right arm (humerus) and left wrist. Lynch, who memorably partnered Sizing Europe to land this year's Queen Mother Champion Chase as well as taking the Cross Country Chase on Sizing Australia at the Cheltenham Festival, suffered his injuries when taking a heavy fall off the Ado McGuinness-trained Fearless Falcon at the Fairyhouse Easter meeting. “I just wanted to give the injuries plenty of time and make sure that I could take a fall if that happened. I've been riding out for the last few weeks and done some schooling,” said Lynch, who has four rides at Tramore where the four-day Festival meeting gets underway. Alan Magee
