Conor O'Dwyer's promising chaser Prosperity Square will not return to action until the spring after suffering a setback.

The nine-year-old endured a largely disappointing run of form during the summer, but the application of a visor saw him raise his game when third at Sligo in October.

He then stepped up another notch when victorious at Punchestown a couple of weeks later.

The form from Punchestown is strong, with the Robert Tyner-trained runner-up Embracing Change since winning three on the spin, including the valuable Porterstown Handicap Chase at Fairyhouse.

O'Dwyer said: "Unfortunately when he came home from Punchestown the day he beat Robert's horse he was lame behind.

"I thought he'd twisted a joint and after it swelled up we left it for a few days. It turned out though that he'd fractured a bone above his fetlock joint.

"He was operated on a few weeks ago. He's back now and he's fine but he obviously won't be returning until the spring.

"He loves a big galloping track and once the ground is decent he'll go at least as far as three miles five (furlongs). With the bracket he's in, though, there are not that many races there for him.

"The Porterstown Chase that Robert's horse went on to win would have been the race for him.

"He'll be back, anyway, and there'll be a few more races to be had with him."
