Trainer Andy Slattery sent out yet another bumper winner as Ripsnorter made all the running under Adam Ryan to land the concluding Brian Keenan On-Course Bookmaker INH Flat Race at Roscommon.

Third on both previous starts, the well backed 7/4 chance (from 11/2) was sent straight to the front by Ryan from flag fall.

Pushed along entering the home straight, the son of Australia was briefly threatened by market leader Boo Radley

However, the effort of the latter was short lived as he quickly dropped out of contention well over a furlong from the finish. Cloughjordan emerged from out of the chasing pack to throw down a late challenge but the Sam Curling trained gelding could never get on terms with the one-length winner.

Brian Slattery said: “He’s been working well with all the other bumper horses so we were expecting him to go very close today.

“He had the form in the book, the horse that was behind him in Killarney (Maskarvel) was second in Galway and I know the Murphys like their horse that was in front of him (Tandy’s Bridge).

“We could have very easily gone to Galway with him but we decided to split them up and he came here just to give him more time from Killarney.

“We’re very happy with him and long may they keep running like this.

“He jumps very well at home so the options are open but it’s possible he could be sold after today. If not he jumps well and we’ll go that route.”
