Shahada Aces it to give Slattery another winner Trainer Andy Slattery continued his recent excellent run of form as Shahada Ace romped away with the Don Moloney Plumbing & Heating Ltd Handicap at Tipperary. Having the eighth start of her career, the daughter of Waldgeist was sent off a well supported 5/2f to make the breakthrough under jockey Andrew Slattery. In the leading half dozen throughout, the market leader came through to head Sugar Club over a furlong from home. Quickening right away to settle matters within a few strides, Shahada Ace forged clear for an easy seven-and-a-half length success. Willie Slattery said: "She took a long time to come into herself and Andy found a very winnable race. Hopefully the handicapper won't lose the run of himself now. "The owners are from the north and travelled down today. We were hopeful as it didn't look the strongest race in the world. She has a good pedigree and we are also hoping she will strengthen up into herself. "She always worked nicely but was weak, backward and small. It is only in the last couple of months that she has grown and strengthened." Regarding the yard's excellent form, he added "it is wonderful. We have a bunch of nice horses and have great people working for us. "This is our living and our jobs, and there are also people coming in every day at 6am who are being rewarded too, as we very seldom use a jockey from outside the yard."
