See also » Shahada Aces it to give Slattery another winner She took a long time to come into herself and Andy found a very winnable race. Hopefully the handicapper won't lose the run of himself now. The owners are from the north and travelled down today. We were hopeful as it didn't look the strongest race in the world. She has a good pedigree and we are also hoping she will strengthen up into herself. She always worked nicely but was weak, backward and small. It is only in the last couple of months that she has grown and strengthened. Andrew Slattery, trainer
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident approaching the final furlong involving Pause For Peace, ridden by N.M. Crosse, placed third, Ms Olivia, ridden by R. Whearty, placed sixth, and Petite Madame, ridden by R.P
Whelan, placed second, where it appeared interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. R. Whearty stated that he received minimal pressure and his mount overexaggerated. N.M. Crosse stated that he edged his mount out as he felt there was space and that he caused no interference. R.P. Whelan stated that he kept a straight line. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted

N.M. Crosse, rider of Pause For Peace, trained by W. McCreery, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung right throughout and didn't handle the bend
A.J. Slattery, rider of Shahada Ace (GB), trained by Andrew Slattery, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ducked badly right out of the stalls
J.M. Sheridan, rider of Shangar, trained by Andrew Slattery, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got hampered leaving the stalls
