Siegemaster to be aimed high Dessie Hughes is to target Siegemaster at the top three-mile chases following an impressive reappearance at Wexford on Saturday. The eight-year-old got his campaign off to the best possible start with a smooth victory in a two-and-three-quarter-mile chase. Although Siegemaster holds an entry in the JNwine.com Champion Chase at Down Royal on November 7th, his next race could be a second-season chase on the same programme. "It was a good performance, a good start for him," said the County Kildare trainer. "There are no real plans at the moment. He may run in the other race at Down Royal for second-season novices the same day. "We'll be looking at Grade One three-mile chases and we'll be entering him for the Gold Cup at Cheltenham."
