Smullen impressed by Guineas mount Attitude

Rae Guest could not have been happier after Serious Attitude teamed up with her new big-race jockey Pat Smullen in a racecourse gallop at Newmarket today.

Smullen had his first 'sit' on the unbeaten daughter of Mtoto - second in the betting for the stanjames.com 1000 Guineas - as she galloped six and a half furlongs in company with Dichoh, her regular exercise companion.

Smullen was content to get a tow for much of the work-out before producing his mount over a furlong out and she moved a couple of lengths clear in effortless style.

Smullen was full of praise for the filly and it is next stop the 1000 Guineas on May 3.

Guest said, 'Everything went perfectly and Pat was very pleased with her. He said that she has a nice cruising speed and does it all effortlessly. He said she'll do for him!'

'He also felt that this would bring her on although she doesn't need any more hard work. We will tick over with her now until the 1000 Guineas.'

Fellow 1000 Guineas hopeful Ghanaati also enjoyed a racecourse spin as the Barry Hills-trained maiden winner had jockey Richard Hills aboard in an exercise with Mustaqer and a lead horse.

Hills said, 'They went seven and a half furlongs and Richard was very happy with that - we'll come back here for the 1000 Guineas.'
