Stately Home beaten at Hamilton

Aidan O'Brien has been farming the Derby trials but had to settle for second when Stately Home was beaten by Parthenon in the Listed totepool Glasgow Stakes at Hamilton.

The Leopardstown maiden winner was sent off the 11-8 favourite and Johnny Murtagh gave him every chance as he tracked the winner, who was allowed an uncontested lead under Greg Fairley.

Parthenon (5-2) showed a neat turn of foot three furlongs from home and the move proved decisive because although Stately Home ate into the lead in the final 200 yards, he was still two and a half lengths adrift at the line.
