Sun Chariot next for Spacious The quest for Spacious to win a Group One goes on after she suffered a narrow defeat in the Matron Stakes at Leopardstown on Saturday. The five-year-old did almost everything right at the Dublin track but had no answer to the finishing kick of Lillie Langtry, who got up to score by a neck. It was the fifth time Spacious has been placed at the highest level and Chris Richardson, managing director for owners Cheveley Park Stud, is praying her turn will come before the season is out. "She ran a blinder and at the end of the day she was beaten by a very good filly," said Richardson. "The rain didn't help us as she is a filly who likes to hear her hooves rattle. "It's a bit frustrating to be playing bridesmaid again and I think that was the third time she's been second in a Group One, but we're delighted with her really and that was probably her best run on that sort of ground. "The plan is for her to go back to Newmarket for the Sun Chariot next. We'll probably find the weather is against us by then, but we'll see."
