The Love Machine recorded the first success of his career when powering clear inside the final furlong to win the Navan Racing Festival Hospitality On Sale Now Nursery Handicap.

Unplaced in seven previous starts, the Far Above colt was dropped out by jockey Terry Casey in the early stages of the race.

Making progress on the inner into mid division at halfway, the 10/1 chance was switched out to go third a furlong from the finish.

Quickening up smartly to lead over 150 yards out, The Love Machine kept on strongly to win by three-and-three quarter lengths.

Michael Mulvany said: "We were a little bit disappointed the last day, he came there swinging and he just didn't go through with his run.

"We rode him completely and utterly differently today, we rode him from off the pace.

"I don't know where we will go now, but it is lovely that he won for him. Terry loses his 10lb claim now, he goes down to 7lb. He is a very good young fella and is after working hard."
