Timber test for Draycott Draycott Place is set to switch back to hurdles temporarily after running out on his debut over fences at Navan last Sunday. John Ryan's gelding was still travelling well at the head of affairs in the Prancer And Dancer Rated Novice Chase when ducking out to the right three from home. The Templemore handler has always felt the former point-to-pointer could make into a classy chaser and is keen to take the positives from his initial outing over the larger obstacles. The Oscar gelding holds a entry in a beginners chase at Fairyhouse on Saturday, but will instead revert to timber for a novice contest at Thurles on Sunday. "He won't run at Fairyhouse. He'll go for the novice hurdle at Thurles on Sunday. It's over two miles and six (furlongs) and it's at my local track" said Ryan. "There is only eight left in it. He is top-rated and it looks like a nice opportunity. "He had no race in Navan and didn't even have a blow. He travelled so easily and jumped so well. "It's my own fault as much as Ryan Treacy's (jockey) as I walked the track and there was nice ground on the outside so I decided to go for that. "Winter good to yielding is his ground and he doesn't like it deep. "He's some horse over a fence, it's a different ball-game. He'll go for one of the better races over Christmas and I think he's a proper horse."
