Walsh back in the groove Ruby Walsh rode his first winner since returning this week after four months on the sidelines with a broken leg when Mon Parrain took the Mobile Betting At paddypower.com Handicap Chase with embarrassing ease at Sandown this afternoon. Walsh, who had bruising around an eye after getting cut from a fall at Naas in midweek, guided Paul Nicholls' unknown French recruit a long way clear without coming off the bridle. Walsh said: "That was just the job, great. He travelled unbelievably well, it was a weak contest and if he produced his best form he was going to be hard to beat. "He jumped so well - he was passing horses in the air. He's a wonderful jumper and he would be a great ride round the big National fences at Aintree. It's good to get a winner but I've not ridden many (since returning to action) that should have won." Nicholls added: "I'm astonished, to be honest, as I thought he'd need the run and we haven't had him long. We had been thinking about a handicap at Aintree but he might have to go for something better now."
