Britzka was given a quote of 33/1 for the Triumph Hurdle after making a winning debut over flights in the juvenile maiden hurdle.

The Zoffany gelding, returned at 9/4 having been well supported from as big as 6/1 this morning, tracked the leaders but was pushed along turning for home as Scenic Look tried to get first run on his pursuers.

Davy Russell ’s mount found plenty off the bridle, though, and collared Scenic Look before the last before going clear to account for that rival by six lengths.

The winner, placed four times from eleven starts on the Flat, was making his first appearnce for winning trainer Gordon Elliott who said: "We bought him out of Eddie Harty’s after he ran well on the Flat at Leopardstown the last day.

“He finished well and I’d say he’s a horse that will get further. He’s a grand honest horse and will give Ray (Stokes, owner) a bit of fun. He could be one for the Fred Winter.”
