Despite proving easy-to-back, Vicar Street still easily accounted for 13 rivals in the Adare Manor Opportunity Maiden Hurdle.

Out of three-time Grade 1 winner Vroum Vroum Mag, the Willie Mullins-trained six-year-old could only manage a disappointing fourth on his sole previous start in a Galway bumper.

As short as 4/9 in early shows for this evening's assignment, the JP McManus-owned bay was eventually returned the even money favourite.

Never far from the pace under Anna McGuinness and jumping left at times, the market leader improved to the front with just over a circuit to go.

He had all his rivals off the bridle from three out and ultimately coasted to an 11-length win.

Well-supported from 8s to 7/2, Cooladdi filled the runner-up spot under Ivan Ryan for Conor Maxwell, while Jasmin Des Blins (20/1) was another two-and-a-half lengths back in third.

"He did it grand. She gave him a lovely ride, he jumped great and handled the ground," Frank Berry, McManus' racing manager, reflected.

"He couldn't have done any more than he did. He'll tip away in the novices for the summer and we'll see where he ends up.

"I'm sure there is a novice or winners race at Galway for him, that would look the obvious thing.

"I'd say he appreciated the trip as well."
