Whyso Back on Top Whyso Mayo, who produced a remarkable display to finish third in the Cox's Cash & Carry Champion Hunters Chase at the Punchestown Festival on May 2nd, on his first run since the Irish National in April 2007, got back to winning ways with regular pilot, Damian Murphy back in the saddle at the Bartlemy point-to-point yesterday. Murphy broke his arm just before Cheltenham and he got himself back into action quicker than expected with the help of cryotherapy (ice chamber where the temperature is lowered to -110) in White's Hotel, Wexford. The Senior Champion point-to-point rider, only returned at Ballindenisk the previous Sunday, and he got to the front on the Kasmayo gelding before three out in the open. The twelve-year-old stayed on well from that point to beat Sound Witness by three lengths to justify odds of even money. Trainer Ray Hurley is now likely to give the 2006 Cheltenham Foxhunters hero a break before bringing him back again next season. on.
