Alanza & Together bidding for Sun Chariot glory

Alanza & Together fly the flag for the Irish in the feature race in the UK tomorrow the Group 1, Kingdom Of Bahrain, Sun Chariot Stakes at Newmarket.

Trained by John Oxx, Alanza has been in great form of late winning her last three.

Having won the Listed Platinum Stakes at Cork in July she then follow on her next start in the Listed Fairy Bridge Stakes at Tipperary.

She then successively stepped up to Group 3 company last time out at Doncaster winning the Sceptre Stakes by a neck.

Johnny Murtagh who rode her to victory on her last two starts will again take the ride.

Together for Aidan O'Brien & Colm O'Donoghue is the other Irish challenger and she has yet to run a bad race on her five starts this season.

The daughter of Galileo finished second to Blue Bunting over the course and distance in the 1000 Guineas in May and filled the runner up spot in the Irish equivalent behind stablemate Misty For Me a few weeks later.

She was last seen finishing second at Leopardstown behind Emulous in the Matron Stakes.

French raider Sahpresa, looks the one to beat however, as she goes for her third successive victory in the valuable contest.

She began this season by beating the emerging French filly Moonlight Cloud. She was then arguably an unlucky loser behind Timepiece in the Falmouth Stakes and was a fast-finishing second behind Goldikova in the Prix Rothschild.

Last time out she was beaten just a length and a short head into third by Immortal Verse and Goldikova in the Prix Jacques le Marois at Deauville.

Henry Cecil's Timepiece was just behind Sahpresa in the Prix Rothschild and will reoppose again tomorrow.

Cecil's Chachamaidee was third to Alanza in the Sceptre Stakes at Doncaster and also renews rivalry.

Brian Meehan's Strawberrydaiquiri will bid to go one better than when second 12 months ago, when trained by Sir Michael Stoute, while Mick Channon's Music Show is looking to return to her three-year-old form.

The David Simcock-trained I'm A Dreamer completes the field.

Paddy Power bet: 7/4 Sahpresa, 10/3 Alanza, 5/1 Timepiece, 8/1 Together, 10/1 Chachamaidee, 12/1 I'm A Dreamer, 16/1 Strawberrydaiquiri, 20/1 Music Show.
