Americain ready for Cup again All roads again lead to the Melbourne Cup for Americain following his outstanding victory in the Drake International Cup at Moonee Valley. The Alain de Royer-Dupre-trained six-year-old could not be in better form ahead of his assault at back-to-back wins in the Flemington highlight on November 1. Royer-Dupre's hardy stayer defied a welter weight of 58 kilograms to take this Group Two affair by two and three-quarter lengths. Jockey Gerald Mosse reported: "I'm quite happy about the acceleration he gave me today with 58kg and I think it's a nice preparation. "He made me happy because this race was just a preparation and I think he will improve a lot after that one. "I'm looking forward to the big race."
