Anibale bids to redeem reputation on Sunday Trainer Tony Martin is hoping that Anibale Fly's poor showing at Kempton over Christmas was due to faster than ideal ground conditions on the day as the J.P. McManus owned gelding bids to get back to winning ways at Leopardstown on Sunday. Anibale Fly was 3/1 favourite for Kempton's Grade 1 Kauto Star Chase on St Stephen's Day but never travelled and was eventually pulled up. Today Martin revealed “Anibale Fly is fine following his disappointing Kempton run and I blame myself for running him. The ground was too quick and I should have pulled him out. "It was my first time in Kempton and whatever limestone or rock underneath they have, I couldn’t believe the ground. Hindsight is a great thing but nothing showed up following the race and he could run on Sunday (Grade 1 2m3f novice chase) if the ground is suitable.” By Tom Weekes
