Aidan O'Brien is excited at the prospect of Australia dropping back to 10 furlongs after the colt's impressive display in the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby.

The Juddmonte International at York and the Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown are among races over a mile and a quarter to be considered for the colt, who followed up his Investec Derby triumph at Epsom in tremendous style at the Curragh on Saturday.

"He's very well this morning. I was delighted. He's physically doing great. Everything is going right with him," the Ballydoyle handler told At The Races.

"He's cruising through his work at home. You couldn't ask him to be in a better place, really."

O'Brien defended the quality of the Classic, which had a field of five following the defection of Kingston Hill and Geoffrey Chaucer and produced a 1-2-3 for the yard.

He went on: "If there were 30 horses behind him (Australia), the pace would have been the same, so there was no difference - it was a proper-run race. The quality of the race was a lot higher than anybody thinks.

"He gets a mile and a half, no problems, but you would imagine a mile and a quarter is going to really suit him."
