Await The Dawn misses Ascot

Await The Dawn is set to swerve Saturday's QIPCO Champion Stakes at Ascot.

Aidan O'Brien's charge was left in the Group One contest at Monday's declaration stage but connections feel he needs more time as he returns to the track following his flop in the Juddmonte International at York.

He was found to running a temperature after returning to Ballydoyle and was given a long break.

The trainer's wife Anne-Marie said on Twitter: "Await The Dawn is unlikely to run in the Qipco Champion Stakes this weekend as we feel the race is coming a little too soon for him."

She also confirmed Colm O'Donoghue will head to Woodbine this weekend to partner Treasure Beach in the Canadian International.
