Billy Lee sidelined with broken collarbone Billy Lee's championship aspirations this season received a major blow after breaking his collarbone in a fall at Limerick on Saturday. The incident occurred in the concluding Private Suites At Limerick Racecourse Handicap where Lee’s mount Heishybrid was brought down after 5/4 favourite Woodshaw Whisper slipped up entering the back straight. “Billy has broken his collarbone, but it is a clean break and hopefully he could be back in about four weeks,” said Lee’s agent Kevin O’Ryan. “He’s in good spirits and is looking on the bright side. Typical of Billy he said ‘it could be a lot worse’”. Lee partnered a double at Limerick on Saturday to put him on the 41-winner mark for the season leaving him just three behind reigning champion Colin Keane in the Flat jockeys’ title race. Woodshaw Whisper’s rider Nicola Burns sustained a broken nose but is hoping to return in a few days according to her agent Ciaran O’Toole. Burns has been one of the bright lights in the apprentice ranks this term with eight winners already on the board for the current campaign.
