Casamento gets back to winning ways in France The ex-Mick Halford trained & Racing Post Trophy winner Casamento returned to winning ways in the Group Two Prix Du Prince D'Orange at Longchamp this afternoon. Given a confident ride in rear by Derby-winning jockey Mikael Barzalona, the Shamardal colt challenged late on the wide outside and picked up smartly to win by a cosy length from Barocci. Having been one of the many to be run off his feet by Frankel in the 2000 Guineas, Casamento's only other run this season was when disappointing in the Prix du Jockey Club in June. Mahmood Al Zarooni's charge holds entries in the QEII Stakes and the Champion Stakes, both at Ascot on October 15. Al Zarooni told www.godolphin.com: "I am really pleased that Casamento has come back like this. "He briefly looked like he didn't want to pass the rest of the field, which was probably a result of his two previous runs, but he did it nicely in the end. "We will see how he comes out of the race before making any plans for him but we will look to step him back up in class now."
