Comfort Line gained a deserved win at Dundalk tonight after hitting the bar on his last three visits to the track.

The Ado McGuinness-trained gelding had been runner-up over further on his most recent starts and gained a ninth career victory, six of those coming at this venue.

Back at seven furlongs the Alhebayeb gelding came to fight things out with Shoot To Kill in the final furlong and got on top in the closing stages for Adam Caffrey to record a half-length win at odds of 6/1.

McGuinness said: "He has run really well in claimers the last few weeks and, if they were handicaps, he would have beaten the horses in front of him so he deserved it.

"He has rock-solid form and has been a super horse.

"Adam rode his first winner in those colours as an apprentice and that is his first winner as a pro tonight, so it is great. The Dooley boys have stuck by Adam and he has repaid them.

"Hopefully, we will have a bit of fun with this fella even on the grass. We'll give him a break and then we will head into the summer."
