Creek collects in Dundalk finale Brandon Creek got on top in the closing stages to land the spoils in the finale at Dundalk, the second division of the ten furlong handicap. There were plenty in with chances going to the furlong pole but it was the Ger O’Leary-trained gelding who got on top in the closing stages to score by three-parts-of-a-length under Jack Cleary. The 9/1 shot had been double those odds this morning. He was making his first start on the all-weather and had failed to trouble the judge on eight previous outings. O'Leary said: "Delighted - this is the last run of the year for the (Purosangue Racing) syndicate. The syndicate expires on the 31st October and we just had this entry done. "We will reload for horses for next year. "This horse, plenty of ability. A mile and a-half and he will go over hurdles as well. "All the lads in the syndicate have been very supportive and we thought this fella would win tonight. "I think the surface made a big difference. In Galway, he got galloped into and it set him back. He got a bad cut behind." (Quotes by Michael Graham)
