The Raceday Stewards interviewed Tom McGuinness, trainer of Nyota, regarding the circumstances around his charge being presented for identification with no shoes. Evidence was heard from the trainer who stated that due to a previous injury it is in the best interests of the horse not to be shod and he had been in contact with the IHRB prior to its previous run and submitted a veterinary certificate to confirm the animal was suited to run without shoes. Having considered all the evidence, the Raceday Stewards allowed Nyota to run on this occasion however, they advised Tom McGuinness that he would need to submit a dated veterinary certificate in future
The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Gerard O'Leary, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Brandon Creek (GB), placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that his charge likes the surface and had a blood disorder during the summer but is now in good health. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted the content of the report
Adam Caffrey, rider of Jawhary (GB), trained by Adrian McGuinness, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung badly right throughout
