Derby Trial News

Aidan O'Brien provides six of the 12 entries for Sunday's usually-informative Derrinstown Derby Trial at Leopardstown.

Fame And Glory, a Group One scorer last year and winner of the Ballysax Stakes in April, is at this stage his number one contender for Epsom, and could reappear at the weekend.

O'Brien has used the Derrinstown as a stepping stone to Derby glory with the likes of Galileo and High Chaparral, while Dylan Thomas and Yeats have also been successful in the contest.

The highly-touted Black Bear Island is another from Ballydoyle, along with Aristocrat, Born To Be King, Hail Caesar and Liszt.

Fresh from his Guineas success last weekend, John Oxx has entered Mourayan, an eyecatching third behind Fame And Glory in the Ballysax and as low as 10-1 for Epsom glory.

Stablemate Tarankali could also run.

Oxx claimed the race in 2000 with Sinndar, who subsequently won the English and Irish Derby.

Jim Bolger could also be doubly represented by Fergus McIver and Toraidhe, while Tracey Collins may run Loch Long.

The sole British entrant is Roger Curtis' Zafisio, a Group One winner in France last year.
