Dundalk winner Drucker gives Andy Slattery another Declan McDonogh renewed an old acquaintance with on-fire trainer Andy Slattery today, as the pair combined to win the DundalkStadium.com Handicap with the Pat Garvey-owned Drucker (4/1). Racing mid-field, McDonogh produced the four-year-old gelding to challenge in the closing stages and the pair edged ahead close home to score by a half-length from Sir Callisto . McDonagh and Slattery had combined more regularly in past years with 45 previous combined wins, with today’s being a first success together since 2024. Recent Grade 1-jump-winning trainer Slattery was on the mark with another Flat winner at Gowran yesterday and today McDonogh mentioned “it is nice to win for Andy - I miss him after all those years! "I had a lovely set up on Drucker, followed the second-horse and just came around them at the '2' pole. I thought he stuck his head out well and showed a good attitude. He relaxed even though I was in there (in mid-division), he never over-raced and had energy for the end of the race.” Quotes from Michael Graham
