Rising Dust made it a hat-trick of wins at Thurles with a gutsy success in the handicap chase this afternoon.

The Emmet Mullins-trained gelding had won over three-miles-one on his last outing here and handled the drop back in trip today.

Donagh Meyler drove his mount to the front early in the straight and he wasn’t for passing in the closing stages.

The 3/1 shot stayed on stoutly on the run-in to record a three-parts-of-a-length win over 5/2 favourite Brave Fortune

He was brilliant again today and just never lies down, and is so tough.

Rising Dust continues winning streak for Mullins

Rising Dust was recording his fifth success since joining Mullins.

Stable representative Maxine O’Sullivan said:- "He was brilliant again today and just never lies down, and is so tough.

“He obviously went up a lot in the weights from the last day, so we knew we were up against it today, wondering where is the limit.

"Donagh was very happy with him and the ground is just about what he can manage.

Ground-dependent star delivers for O'Connor family

"The owners, Mr and Mrs O'Connor, are great and he has provided them with a lot of great days.

“Hopefully it continues and I'm sure Emmet will keep chasing the (good) ground for him, as he is ground dependent."
