Easy opening-race win for Fox In Flight Heavily-supported Fox In Flight (morning 10/11, returned 2/5f) dropped in distance to easily win Dundalk’s opening Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden today, scoring for trainer David Marnane, owners MRC International and jockey Luke McAteer. Placed twice over longer distances at today’s course in recent months, Fox In Flight dropped to five furlongs today and having travelled well, eventually quickened clear to easily beat Kiss Don’t Tell by three lengths. Marnane reported “He had run over every trip but the trainer eventually got it! Physically he is quite sharp, but mentally he wasn't. We started him off over the six (furlongs), and you couldn't say he didn't stay the seven because he was only beaten a nose and a head. “He is a lovely horse and will come back here for the winners' race in nine days time.” Fox In Flight is by same sire (Cityscape) as the trainer’s seven-time Dundalk winner Freescape, and he added "Amy (Marnane, niece) bought him for 2,500gns, so he has been good value. He will develop into a really nice horse and he works to a fair old level at home." Quotes from Michael Graham
