Oldschool Outlaw (1/2f) continued her upward trajectory with a wide-margin success in the Grade 3 BetVictor Solerina Mares Novice Hurdle over an extended two-and-a-quarter-miles in Fairyhouse.

She was closely tracked by both Place De La Nation and Carry On Heidi on the approach to the straight. However, she was still swinging away for Mark Walsh before two out as Darragh O'Keeffe and Paul Townend began to exert their arms on Carry On Heidi and Place De La Nation respectively.

Walsh asked the leader for more after two out and the response was impressive as she drew clear of the opposition in jumping the last. She ran on well in putting nine lengths on Place De La Nation (13/8).

Oldschool Outlaw is now two from two over flights having landed a mares' maiden hurdle at Naas in December.

She gave Gordon Elliott a double on the card as he was also responsible for the winner of the opener - Dunsy Rock (9/4f).

Frank Berry, Racing Manager for JP McManus, said: “She jumped great and Mark said she felt good and quickened up lovely after the last. You could only be pleased with what she did.

“She seemingly handles that ground very well. He was impressed with the way she picked up. You couldn’t be happier with her.

“We’ll leave it to Gordon now to see what he wants to do and see where he wants to go with her. As of now you couldn’t be happier to have her anyway.”

Paddy Power shortened Oldschool Outlaw from 6/1 to 7/2 for the mares' novices' hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival (non runner no bet).
