Ennis hoping for a good run in Guineas Frank Ennis believes Sebastian Flyte is not a complete no-hoper in the Abu Dhabi Irish 2000 Guineas at the Curragh on Saturday. The colt is a 100-1 chance after finishing seventh to Noll Wallop in the Leopardstown 2,000 Guineas Trial. However, Ennis felt the ground did not suit his horse, who had been runner-up in a Newmarket Group Three last autumn, and expects conditions at his local track to be more suitable. Ennis said: "He needed the race badly. He couldn't travel on the ground in Leopardstown. He's in very good form now. We'd be hoping to run into a place. He's a good, tough horse. He's genuine and he'll definitely get the mile well. "It will be perfect ground and he should come home very well. And if he finished in the first four, I'd be over the moon. The money's paid so we might as well go." Sebastian Flyte has nine lengths to find on Noll Wallop and will get the chance to gain his revenge as Tommy Stack's charge will also be in the line-up. "He won well at Leopardstown and before that we had always viewed him more of a Derby horse, but he quickened up very well in that race so we decided to take our chance in the Guineas," Stack's son and assistant Fozzy told At The Races. "You have to respect Canford Cliffs, Xtension and Fencing Master. They all ran well in Newmarket and they will be tough nuts to crack. Then you have Steinbeck, who's obviously a very promising horse. He comes into the reckoning now so it's going to be an interesting race." Canford Cliffs is one of the market leaders and the Newmarket 2000 Guineas third came through his latest workout in tremendous style. "He worked on Wednesday morning and everyone walked away very happy," said his trainer Richard Hannon. "Richard (Hughes) said he felt like he had come on since Newmarket - he settled well and he showed a good turn of foot."
