Fairyhouse on Kalane's agenda Plans are in place to bring Kalane back to Ireland later in the season for a tilt at the John & Chich Fowler Memorial European Breeders Fund Mares Chase at Fairyhouse. Trainer Amy Murphy has earmarked the Grade Three contest as a possible long-term target for the eight-year-old, who is owned by her father Paul, after an outing in next month's Lady Protectress Chase at Huntingdon. The former Charlie Longsdon-trained mare, who finished third behind Champion Hurdle winner Annie Power at Punchestown in May 2015, gifted the Newmarket handler the biggest winner of her career last month when claiming a Listed chase at Doncaster. Murphy said: "It was very quick in patches at Doncaster due to the frost and it was certainly not her ground. We were lucky to get away with it. "She fell in the same race last year when turning into the home straight. She is such a good jumper but she always seems to miss one throughout her races. "She did exactly the same in this year's race and absolutely walked through one on the first circuit but, after that, she never put a foot wrong. "She is likely to go to Huntingdon in the middle of February for a Listed mares' chase next then I imagine she will be covered and we will look for something else later in the season. "There is a two-and-a-half-mile Grade Three at Fairyhouse over Easter and that is a potential end-of-season long-term aim."
