Final two races on Naas card cancelled The final two races at Naas have been cancelled today in the interest of safety. There is a slippery surface on the bend into the home straight following some light rain during the day and a number of riders expressed their concern after the first race. Racing concludes with the Group Three Lacken Stakes at 4.15pm. The Stewards report reads as follows: Following riders' reports in the first and second races to the effect that the bend into the straight was slippy, the bend into the straight was found to be unfit for racing. The Stewards were satisfied to allow 5f and 6f sprints to proceed, however abandoned races six and seven of this meeting due to a slippery surface on the bend into the straight. J.A. Heffernan, D.P. McDonagh and R.L. Moore, riders, and Mr. B. Sheridan, Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Clerk of the Course, were consulted prior to this decision being taken.
