Frankel 'bouncing' Lord Teddy Grimthorpe reports Frankel to be in good form following this month's success at Royal Ascot. Sir Henry Cecil's star three year-old retained his unbeaten record in the St James's Palace Stakes at the Royal meeting by three quarters of a length in the mile contest. Grimthorpe reported the colt to be in good order. He said: "He came out of the race really well, Henry was very pleased with him, he ate up and didn't lose too much condition or anything like that so he took the race pretty well and he's back bouncing." Not all commentators were impressed with the performance, however, as he failed to reproduce the fireworks of his Guineas success at Newmarket but Grimthorpe believes that it was representative of Frankel's class that he was able to prevail. "I think it was a combination of several things really - one or two things didn't quite go as we planned it but the really pleasing thing was the horse just showed his class to do what he did. "I thought it was, on the horse's point of view, an absolutely wonderful performance," he told sportinglife.com. With regard future plans for the son of Galileo it's very much one race at a time with his eagerly awaited clash with Canford Cliffs in the Qipco Sussex Stakes at Glorious Goodwood next on the agenda. "I think we have to see how we go in this race (the Sussex). I don't think there's any hard and fast plan at the moment with Frankel and his options are relatively obvious and a little bit limited but we have to see how we go now and see after that." said Grimthorpe.
