Frankel could have Guineas trial

Henry Cecil's Frankel could run in one of the Classic trials before going for glory in the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket next May.

Prince Khalid Abdullah's star two-year-old is odds-on favourite with some bookmakers for the Rowley Mile showpiece after a brilliant juvenile season, culminating with an emphatic victory in the Dewhurst Stakes.

Abdullah's racing manager Teddy Grimthorpe told At The Races: "He'll just be ticking over during the winter.

"I think whether he runs before the Guineas will be up to Henry. He likes to give his horses a trial before these sorts of races so that really leaves only a possible two - the Greenham (at Newbury) or the Craven (at Newmarket).

"That would be dependant on the horse and how he's been."
