French raiders please O'Brien despite defeats Aidan O'Brien's Capri remains on target for the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe despite finishing fifth of six in the Prix Foy at Longchamp on Sunday. Last year's St Leger winner has missed most of the season through injury but returned to action in a notable trial for the Arc, which was won in great style by Waldgeist. O’Brien said: "I didn't see Capri’s race live but Wayne (Lordan) was very happy with the horse. The plan with him is to go back (for the Arc)." O’Brien was represented in all three trials on the card, with the filly Magic Wand coming close to victory in the Prix Vermeille when beaten a head by Kitesurf. His Hunting Horn was then beaten just a short head in the Prix Niel by Charlie Appleby's Brundtland. "Magic Wand ran in the Vermeille. We weren’t sure about her getting the mile-and-a-half and she might go back for the mile-and-a-quarter (Prix de l’Opera)," said O’Brien. "She came there to win and just got nabbed. "Hunting Horn ran very well. Wayne thought a stronger gallop would have suited him and he’s another possibility for the Arc."
