Galway jumping action this weekend

It's National Hunt action all the way as racing returns to the western capital this weekend with Galway hosting a two-day meeting and over €200,000 in prize-money.

The Grade 3 Faber Audiovisuals Ballybrit Novice Chase is the feature on Saturday, while the €24,000 Dara Cassidy Memorial Handicap Chase is the main event on Sunday.

Local business again serves the track well with all 14 races sponsored by Galway firms, while the Ballybrit executive have a number of enticing packages for racegoers.

The lunch package is available on both days which includes admission, a four course meal and reserved table for the day with view of the track plus a racecard for €55 per person.

The going is currently yielding (yielding to soft in places) on the hurdle course, and soft (soft to heavy in places) on the chase track.
