Golantilla will wait for decent ground Alan Fleming is in no rush with Golantilla after he won on his first outing over fences at Killarney last month. Having won a point-to-point and a bumper for Sean O'Brien on his first two starts, the son of Golan was bought by current owner Barry Connell for 375,000 euro and sent into training with Tony Martin. He finished third on his debut for Connell and Martin in the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham in 2013, but only won once in five starts after. Making his debut for Fleming at Killarney, he ran out a comfortable winner under Adrian Heskin. Fleming said: "We are happy enough with him, everything is on track. The only thing is he is very ground-dependent and he needs nice ground. "We are not going to run him on heavy so if we have to wait for nice ground, we will be patient with him. We will let the weather tell us what we are going to do." Fleming completed a double for Connell at Listowel on Sunday and was particularly sweet on bumper winner Volvalien. The French-bred son of Network came home with 19 lengths to spare at the Kerry venue and will have his next run over hurdles. Fleming said: "We are in no hurry with him either. He is another horse that wants nice ground. "He jumps very well and he will go hurdling now, but we will just wait for the ground and see what comes up for him."
