Good card for Fairyhouse's Solheim Cup Day

Though his participation is reportedly very much ground dependent, Steps To Freedom's name among the declared runners for the Europe V America Maiden Hurdle at Fairyhouse tomorrow is a big boost to the now seven race programme.

Action will begin at the earlier time of 3.15 as the 5 Euro Admission Handicap Hurdle has been divided.

Steps To Freedom last ran in the Listed Ardilaun Hotel Oyster Stakes at Galway and he was unlucky there when fourth to Zanughan. He is due to be ridden by Robbie Power for his hurdling bow and the dual bumper and flat maiden winner will be equipped with the usual tongue-tie. The going as been described as good (good to firm in places).

Another very interesting horse on tomorrow's card is Henry de Bromhead's Sizing Symphony. This fellow was impressive at Killarney in July and under Andrew Lynch at Fairyhouse he is due to face five rivals in the I.N.H. Stallion Owners European Breeders Fund Novice Hurdle.

Those five opponents are Minella Humour (looked good at Roscommon last time), Jakros (coming off a 118 day break), Pickapocketortwo (Patrick Mullins up), Rockofinspiration (has it to do off a rating of 108) and Devil's Elbow (won two over the summer but disappointed on soft ground last time out).

Fairyhouse Welcomes The Solheim Cup To Meath Hurdle is a race National Hunt enthusiasts will observe with interest too as it sees Muirhead, Mackeys Forge, Plan A and Takeyourcapoff do battle.

Meanwhile the booking of Jane Mangan for Tom Taaffe's well-regarded Alexandr Nevsky in the bumper catches the eye. Wall Street Wally looks like another that will have a big say here.
