Halford to step Dude up in trip Trainer Mick Halford is looking forward to seeing Wild Dude step up in distance on his next appearance after a fine effort in defeat at Meydan. Formerly trained in America by Jerry Hollendorfer, Wild Dude made his debut for Halford in the inaugural Keeneland Korea Sprint at Seoul last September, finishing down the field. However, he shaped with more encouragement when third behind veteran sprinter Reynaldothewizard on his first appearance in Dubai last month and occupied the same position in a Group Three last week. "Wild Dude ran a blinder. He didn't have much luck in running and got stopped in his run a little bit," said Halford. "We'll probably up him to seven furlongs, I'd say he's crying out for seven looking at him. "We'll up him to seven furlongs in two weeks' time and see from there. "We'll probably end up dropping back to six then as that's the only seven-furlong race there is for him out there." Hasanour failed to cut much ice in two starts at Meydan last month and his Curragh-based trainer is hoping for a better result next time. He said: "Hasanour runs next week. He's been a bit disappointing. I don't know why as his work has been good. "We'll see if he can show any more next week."
