Hewick 'looking a million dollars' upon his return to work Shark Hanlon has brought his stable star, Hewick back into work after a summers grass. The 2023 King George victor is now 10 years old but still showed a good level of form on occasions last campaign, especially when narrowly defeated in the Ladbrokes Champion Chase at Down Royal. "He came back in during the week and is in great form. He is looking a million dollars," said Hanlon When asked where he might return, he replied: "The Charlie Hall (in Wetherby) or something like that I'm thinking of. "I was going to bring him back in for Listowel but, to tell you the truth, the weather was so good and he was looking so well - TJ (McDonald, owner) had him above - and it would have been a sin to bring him back, so I didn't bring him back in until this week." Hewick finished a very creditable 8th in last years Randox Grand National and he is bound to be targeted towards similar contests once again in this coming season. The aforementioned Charlie Hall would seem to be a good starting point for the hard knocking son of Virtual, as he is likely to get his favoured good ground there. The E850 purchase has amassed over £774,000 in prize money so far in his career, with other notable successes coming in the American Grand National at Fair Hills and The Galway Plate.
