Katie Walsh Delighted With Ascot Winner Katie Walsh was celebrating on Saturday as she rode Georgian Bay to victory on King George day at Ascot. Walsh's mount was sent off the 5-1 favourite for the seven-furlong contest and Karl Burke's charge got home by a neck from Bertiewhittle and Tommy G. Walsh said: "He broke really well and better than I expected. I'd say he relished the conditions and that he got there too soon which Karl warned me not to do, but I got away with it. "As soon as the other horse drifted over towards me that helped. It was great and fantastic to have a winner at Ascot. "That is just my second Ascot winner as I only ride in these lady amateur races. I won this race before a couple of years ago so it is great to ride another winner of it. "Karl rang me Wednesday for the ride."
