Lambe records Kelso treble After recording a double at Hexham last Saturday James "Jimmy" Lambe continued where he left off by completing a treble at Kelso today, saddling three winners and two seconds. His first winner came in the opening division of the novice hurdle where Skylancer, ridden by Seamus Durack, beat the 4/5fav McMurrough into second place, at 5/1. In the second race he saddled the 7/2jfav On My Terms, but he was caught close home by the other joint favourite Mystified and finished two lengths back in second. His second winner came in the third race of the day, the 2m 6f maiden hurdle, where Candian Sunset ridden by seven pound claimer Eddie O'Connell won by two lengths at the odds of 11/8fav. O'Connell was gaining compensation for finishing second on On My Terms in the previous race. In the fifth, Hawksbury Heights, again under O'Connell, was Lambe's representative but he was caught close home by the 7/1 shot Cast Iron Casey, going down by just a nose at the death at 12/1. However the day finished on a high note for the Dungannon, Co Tyrone man when Nocturnal Knight (5/2) claimed the second division of the novice hurdle, under Seamus Durack (completing a double), on just his second start for the stable. Formerly in the care of Tracey Collins the six year old Diktat gelding recorded his first ever success on his 39th attempt.
