Lemons bounces back to complete quick double for Mullins Pulled up in the Triumph Hurdle last month, Blue Lemons (2/1jf) bounced back to his best in the Grade 2 O'Driscoll's Irish Whiskey Juvenile Hurdle. Completing a quick double for Willie Mullins, who took the opener with Last Kingdom, the Blue Point bay was settled towards rear and wasn't fluent at times. Poised behind a wall of horses approaching two out, he soon got in the clear on the outer and eased to the front before the final flight. Despite another awkward jump there, he sprinted clear on the run-in and had seven-lengths to spare at the line. Its Bilbo, who was the other joint-favourite, filled the runner-up spot under Rachael Blackmore, with Wendrock another four and a quarter lengths back in third. "Book in the mares now (for Blue Point)!" assistant trainer David Casey quipped. "It was obviously a big step down from the Triumph. Paul said they went quick and it suited the way he rode him. "Bit sticky early jumping, but he said he handled the ground well and he came through it at the end and he won well. "He had that bit of Flat pace anyway and Paul said that suited him because they went quick and they got a little bit tired in front, and he was able to use his pace at the end which is good. "He's in Punchestown and he'll probably run, I suppose. He may as well at this stage. "Not too many Blue Point's jump hurdles! We'll see where he can end up and he always has the option of going back on the Flat as well during the summer." Additional reporting by Michael Graham
